I just finished reading another article, and again I was reminded of the sad situation our nation is in. There are many things I would like to say, many questions I would like to ask, many warnings I would like to send, and much advice I would like to give. Instead I want to give you just one thing to think about, actually just one word–Read!
The more informed we are the better off we will be. Ignorance often proves fatal. And in this case we’re talking about a national calamity–the ruin of a republic, the destruction of democracy. I know that sounds far fetched to most people. But it has happened in other places and we are foolish to think we are exempt from the possibility. We are in dangerous territory.
I’ve often said it would be better if some folks didn’t vote. That might seem strange, but it’s true. For example, illegals shouldn’t vote, but many do. Convicted convicts shouldn’t vote–they lost their right. And in my opinion the uninformed shouldn’t vote. Far too many people vote out of blind allegiance to a particular party, or because of the promise of personal gain, or because of the color of a person’s skin.
If you are going to vote you need to be well informed. You need to get the facts. You need to understand what’s important and whats not. You need to consider what’s at stake. You need information. But you won’t get it through osmosis. Neither will it come by way of a divine revelation delivered by angels floating around in the air. You need to read.
Don’t wait until the election is over and the damage has been done, then say,”I didn’t know”. Pleading ignorance when you could have known the truth won’t get you off the hook. The facts are everywhere. All you have to do is read, watch, and listen.
Many have been surprised by Obama and disappointed. Why? What’s the surprise? From his own writings, speeches, behavior, and associates he told you what he would do before he ever became president–yet you helped elect him anyway. Why? Simply because you didn’t read, you didn’t investigate, you didn’t search for the facts. Those who voted for him either agreed with him or were ignorant about him, either way they are just as guilty as he is. If that embarrasses you and hurts your feelings it should.
It is quite possible that America will never be the same again if Obama wins and is allowed to carry out his plans. We will have destroyed ourselves, without a shot being fired (unless it is at those who protest). We must not “fiddle while Rome burns”. The stakes are too high for us to fail to get involved. Our nation is about to make a choice that could take us over the cliff. Let us then make a well informed decision. We dare not blindly follow those who would lead us astray. We must walk in the light of the truth, follow the facts, lest the America we know and love is destroyed before our very eyes. Making the right decision demands the we look at the facts. My one one of advice is “Read”! Think about it.
