FALLEN OR FAITHFUL?
“Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted. Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.“- Gal. 6:1-2
It’s common for some professing Christians to want others to think they are “spiritual “, or super-saints – it brings them attention and compliments. But they fail the “spiritual” test and are of no help to those who need it.
Were they spiritual they would take an interest in those who aren’t. They would run to rescue and restore those who have fallen. They would know that, but for the grace of God they would be in the place of the other.
The truly spiritual person would display the fruit of the Spirit- “ But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith. Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.”- Gal. 5:22-23.
Were they spiritual their life would be characterized by love as it is described in 1 Cor. 13 (please read).
Considering this, perhaps those who think themselves to be spiritual are actually one of the fallen, and consequently of no help to the fallen. Those who walk in the Spirit will be the first responders to reach out to those who have gone astray. So, what group are you in- the fallen or the faithful? HDS
