CHRIST IS WONDERFUL
“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called WONDERFUL…”
Isaiah 9:6
I can’t think of anything better to share this morning, than a word on how wonderful Christ is. May we never lose the joy, zeal, amazement, or wonder of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior!
May the day never come when it’s just an ordinary thing to hear the gospel, be in a worship service, hear and sing songs of praise to God, and be under the sound of preaching.
John Newton, once a rough, rugged, cussing sailor, was saved by Jesus Christ, penned the words to 🎵 Amazing Grace 🎵, and also wrote the following which falls right in line with this morning’s thought :
“How tedious and tasteless the hours,
When Jesus no longer I see!
Sweet prospects, sweet birds, sweet flowers,
Have all lost their sweetness to me.
The Midsummer sun shines but dim,
The fields strive in vain to look full,
But when I am happy with Him,
December is pleasant, not dull.
Dear Lord if indeed I am thine,
If thou art my sun and my song,
Say, what do I languish and pine,
And why are my winters so long?
Oh drive these dark clouds from my sky,
Thy soul-cheering presence restore,
Or take me unto thee on high,
Where winter and clouds are no more.”
If weariness is trying to overwhelm you. If weeping occurs more and more often, pause and reflect on how WONDERFUL Christ is!
Merry Christmas,
