MORNING MANNA 12-24-21
THE SUPPLY CHAIN
Read John 1:32-45
But there’s something much worse than that. While many will complain about not getting what they want there are billions who are without Christ. Of all man’s needs the greatest is to hear the gospel – but there is a problem with the supply chain. We Christians have failed to deliver.
Thankfully that wasn’t the case when our Lord launched His earthly ministry. Our text reveals how John the Baptist pointed others to Christ. Then one of them, Andrew, found his brother Simon Peterand brought him to Jesus (vs. 40-42). Next Phillip found Nathaniel and told him of Jesus (vs. 45).
That’s the way it should be today. Christians carry the cure for those who are spiritually dead. We have the message that matters most – the glorious gospel. We can speak from experience of Christ’s power to heal the most sin sick soul. But there’s a problem with the supply chain. We are failing to deliver the goods to those in dire need.
Where would you be had no one told you about Christ? It wouldn’t be a pretty picture. Now think about the eternal destiny of those without Christ – people you could and should have told about God’s saving grace – but didn’t. You would rush to the aid of an accident victim. Why then do you withhold from others what they need most? Is it fear? Distraction? Or does your love of pleasure outweigh your concern for others? Whatever the case, rest assured that nothing dismisses you from your duty to deliver the gospel to others. They need Christ above all else and God wants you to tell them about him. They could receive the gift of eternal life, but they must first hear the gospel. Will you give them the message? – HDS
