“Abraham believed God…” Rom. 4:3
The crucial issue is whether or not we believe what God has said. That determines whether or not God is pleased with us (Heb. 11:6). It also decides what God can do for us and with us. In Abraham’s case, his faith was “counted unto him for righteousness” (Rom. 4:3). And God still does the same for all who trust Him. Although we are without righteousness, God imputes righteousness to those who simply trust Him. What could never be attained any other way is freely bestowed through faith. But the benefits of a believer don’t end there. Rom. 5:1-5 describes more of the believers beautiful benefits – enough that it ought to spark the interest of every person.
Thinking of all this I can’t help but wonder why a person wouldn’t believe God. We have no reason to not trust Him. He has proven Himself faithful and true. As we read in 1 Kings 8:56 “There hath not failed one word of all his good promise”. That’s reason enough for me! His revelations can be relied upon and doing so brings great rewards. Those who trust God open the door to blessings untold. Only a fool would deny or doubt God and deprive himself of all that God’s grace affords. If you don’t trust God who will you trust? The wisest thing you will ever do is to put your faith in the Lord who never fails. Trust Him today! “These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.” – HDS
