MORNING MANNA 8-3-21
“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”- 1 John 1:9
Somehow, some way, someone convinced them that there was a better way to live. So they disobeyed God’s word, dishonored God’s will, doubted God’s wisdom, disregarded God’s warnings, deserted God’s way, and departed in a different direction in pursuit of something they thought would bring them happiness. They forsook God in an effort to please themselves, but it isn’t working.
While this could be said of millions, I’m talking about people I know and love dearly. They are on a course that leads to destruction rather than delight because they have been deceived.
What they’re doing breaks my heart, but it doesn’t lessen my love for them. More importantly, it does not not diminish God’s love and concern for them. Although they are blind and bound to sin that grieves the heart of God He doesn’t stop loving them. Although they are unconcerned about Him, He is still very much concerned about them. In some cases they might feel that God has given up on them, but He hasn’t. He is willing and able to forgive and cleanse their sins if they repent. He is the God of second chances. As with Israel, He is able to restore the years the locust has eaten. He can turn an ash heap into a mountain of happiness.
Your problem isn’t God giving up on you, but you giving up on God! Feeling there is no hope you give up the hunt for help. When you do that you are giving up the blessings you could have had. That doesn’t make sense – but sin never does. As I often say “God’s will is not only right, it is best”. Get there as fast as you can! Wherever you are in life, whatever you’ve done, it’s not too late if you are willing to turn back to God. He will welcome you with open arms. As someone said:
“You are not too dirty for God to cleanse. You are not too broken for God to fix. You are not too far for God to reach. You are not too guilty for God to forgive. You are not too worthless for God to love.
The only thing that keeps you away from God and His blessing is your sinful stubborn pride. Please, I beg you to turn back to God. You will be glad you did, and I will be thrilled. More importantly God will be pleased and that’s what is most important. – HDS
