MORNING MANNA 8-7-22
FAITH IS THE VICTORY
Every person is in a fight of one kind or another. It might be a struggle with your health, your finances, your spouse, or your job–but there is always something that makes life difficult. The question is, “Where do I turn to for help?”. Some, no doubt, are thinking–“I could win this battle if I was just stronger, or wiser, or richer”. Others are thinking , “My problem would be solved if ______ would help me or do as they should”. And some have even tried religion as a remedy. Still they wake up each new morning with the same old problem, and it is wearing them out–even to the point that they have just about given up all hope. Well, I’ve got good news. There is a solution.
The answer to all our problems is the same for all, and it’s found in the words of the song KEPT sings— “Give up and let Jesus take over”. We don’t win our battles by trying, but by trusting– trusting Christ. Faith forces God into action, it moves Him to honor His promises. Even if He doesn’t change your circumstances He will change you–enabling you to deal with them. Trusting God isn’t a ticket to get whatever you want. But if you are truly trusting Him you will be able to live with whatever He allows. Don’t abandon all hope just because life is difficult or you feel defeated.
Ronald Reagan said it well, “We are never defeated unless we give up on God“. Sadly that is exactly what a lot of folks have done. As great as their need is and as clear as God’s promises are, they refuse to trust God— as though He isn’t trustworthy. I can’t imagine anything more foolish than that.
Some of you are thinking,”I hear you preacher, but I’ve tried Christianity and it didn’t help”. That’s exactly the problem–you “tried”. You have to stop “trying” and start trusting. God doesn’t “make a way for you” until you “give up and let Jesus take over”. You can talk about trying all you please, but you haven’t truly tried Jesus until you have trusted Him. It’s not about you getting what you want, it’s about winning the battle, not escaping it.– Winning has to do with God’s will being done, regardless of what the circumstances are. And it’s not about your effort, but all about His faithfulness–Jesus never fails. If you really want to put God to the test, trust Him! There is no other way. Neither prayer, nor Bible study, nor even service, can take the place of faith. Without that it is impossible to please Him (Heb. 11:6), nor to prevail over your problems. It is either faith or failure.- HDS
