MORNING MANNA            4-22-23

COMPASSION

“And the people saw them departing, and many knew him, and ran afoot thither out of all cities, and outwent them, and came together unto him. And Jesus, when he came out, saw much people, and was moved with compassion toward them, because they were as sheep not having a shepherd: and he began to teach them many things.” Mk.6:33-34

Several years ago I read this story from a preacher I didn’t know: “I was once conducting a session with high school teenagers. I told them that they could ask me any question on any subject, and I would try and answer it. Their questions were typical of ones I had received in similar sessions scores of times before. As the session drew to a close, one girl toward the back, who had not said anything, raised her hand. I nodded, and she said, ‘The Bible says God loves everybody. Then it says that God sends people to Hell. How can a loving God do that?’

“I gave her my answer, and she came back to me with arguments. I answered her arguments, and she answered my answers. The conversation quickly degenerated into an argument. I did not convince her, nor did she convince me. After a few more questions I dismissed the session. After the session I approached her and said, ‘I owe you an apology. I really should not have allowed our discussion to become so argumentative.’ Then I asked, ‘May I share something with you?’ She said, ‘Yes.’ So I took her through a basic presentation of the Gospel. When I got to Romans 3:23 and suggested that all of us were sinners she began to cry. It was then that this high school senior admitted she had been living in sin and was going through a difficult time. The one thing she needed was forgiveness. When I finished the presentation of the Gospel, she trusted Christ.”

That girl’s argumentative attitude was the result of a broken heart and lack of understanding. Thankfully the preacher demonstrated compassion and led her to Christ! May God help us to do the same as we deal with others whom we hope to win to Christ. Someone might seem impossible to reach, but God can break down the barriers if we speak the truth in love without giving up.We can’t win everyone but we can win someone. Don’t give up.

HE CAME DOWN

“I am come down” – Exodus 3:8

As I read the following, by F.B. Meyer, I was reminded of the first sermon I ever heard on this text and the many times I have preached from it.

“This is a marvellous chapter, because it is so full of God. If the previous one, in its story of human striving, reminds us of Rom. 7., this as surely recalls Rom. 8. There is little mention of the part that Moses was to play, but much is said of what God was about to do. “I am come down.” “I will bring you up.” “I will put forth Mine hand.” O weary soul, bitter with weary bondage, groaning beneath cruel taskmasters, afflicted and tossed with tempest, the I AM has come down!

God comes down to our lowest to lift us to His highest. – This is the theme of the Magnificat, and of Hannah’s song. God comes down to the dust for the poor, and to the dunghill for the needy. You cannot be too lonely or broken in spirit for Him to notice and help. In proportion to your humiliation will be your exaltation.

He comes down to our saddest to lift us to His joyfullest. – How great the contrast between the cry of the Hebrews, because of their taskmasters, and the exultant note that smote on the rocks of the Red Sea! Such shall be your experience also. If you suffer in the line of God’s will and providence, you are sowing the seeds of light and gladness. Oh, anticipate the harvest!

He comes dawn go our helplessness to succor with His great might. – Israel could not help herself; but the resources of I AM were sufficient for every need, and they will be for yours and mine. This is God’s blank check; fill it in! Insert after these majestic words, wisdom, or courage, or love, or whatever you need most. And He will be all this, and more also: not for a moment, but always; not spasmodically, but unchangeably.”

JESUS PAID IT ALL

“And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins. Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.” – Matthew 1:21–23

A teenage boy was once intently playing basketball on his high school team. The game was intense, the lead going back and forth between the two rival teams. At a crucial point in the game, the 16-year-old lunged for an errant pass going out of bounds. As he toppled over a spectator’s chair, one of its legs caught him in the stomach and damaged vital organs.

Because he felt little pain, the teen continued to play the game’s final minutes while he hemorrhaged internally. By the time the pain grew enough to warrant a trip to the hospital, it was almost too late. The doctors worked frantically to save him, but the outcome was uncertain.

Though the boy eventually recovered, those awful hours of waiting for the slightest signs of recovery forced family members to ask questions they’d never before faced. While his father was alone on his bedside shift one evening, the new pastor of his church visited.

Trembling with emotion, the father asked, “Will God kill my son to punish my sin?” “No,” said the young minister, searching for words that would comfort and grant renewed trust in the God this father now so desperately needed. “The Lord’s not punishing your son for your sin. He couldn’t, because God punished His Son for your sin.”

Jesus came to save you from your sins. His mission wasn’t to teach others about Heaven, although He did that. He wasn’t on earth to be a great example for us, although He was. His main mission, His focus, was to die on Calvary to pay for your sins.

Many Christians live in light of past failures and sin, yet God promises that if we have received Him and have sought His forgiveness, He has erased the old sins! Are you ever discouraged by remembering times you have failed in the past? Don’t let the devil discourage you with past sins. He only desires to keep you from serving God. If you have asked for God’s forgiveness, put that failure behind you and claim God’s promise in Psalm 103:12, “As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.” – Paul Chappell

THINK ABOUT IT             4-19-23

April 19, 2023 By Pastor David Stone

THINK ABOUT IT          4-19-23

As the spirit of the antichrist gains more strength in our world each and every day, it helps to remember what Jesus said about the one behind it, the devil himself.

In John 8:44, Jesus characterized Satan as “a murderer from the beginning” and “a liar and the father of lies.” The news headlines of our day bear witness to the truth of Jesus’ words. The killing of innocents and deceitfulness go hand in hand.
When the disciples asked Jesus about the signs of the end of the age and of His coming, the first words were, “Take heed that no man deceive you” (Matthew 24:4). A little later in the same discourse, the Lord spoke of the great deception that will happen during the Tribulation period (Matthew 24:24):

Matthew 24:24 KJV – “For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.”

The Apostle Paul, when he began to speak of the appearance of the antichrist in the last days, echoed the words of Jesus in 2 Thessalonians 2:3, “Let no one deceive you in any way.” A little later in the same chapter, He said this about the coming “man of lawlessness:”

2 Thessalonians 2:9-10 KJV – “Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, 10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.”

In 1 Timothy 4:1, Paul warned of “deceitful spirits and teachings of demons” that would appear in the last days.

Scripture is remarkably clear about this: the time leading up to the seven-year Tribulation, as well as the period itself, will be marked by overwhelming and widespread deception.

As we look around us, it’s unmistakable that this has reached epidemic levels, which signifies that we live in the shadow of the coming seven-year Tribulation.

THE DUPLICITY OF THE GLOBALISTS

We witness the deceitfulness of the powerbrokers in the way they say one thing, but behave in a radically different manner. Below are several examples of their duplicity.

The seventeen goals of the UN’s Agenda 2030 unveil their purpose to control the lives of everyone on the planet. The Great Reset of the World Economic Forum presupposes a world swallowed up in chaos and lawlessness from which they can construct a world order that will enslave humanity.

The elite repeatedly tell us that their goal is to save the planet. They would have us believe that they care deeply about the environment and thus they instruct us to change our way of life based on this.

Do their actions match their words? No, and it’s not even close. Many of the globalists build or purchase mansions on the waterfront; they have no worries about rising sea levels. They fly everywhere in private jets consuming a great amount of fuel and emitting a lot of CO2.

I have come to the conclusion that deep state in America is purposely attacking the environment. The train accident in East Palestine, Ohio, is just one of many incidents where trains have spilled hazardous materials into nature during the past several weeks. As I write, there’s a barge carrying methanol that’s slowly sinking into the Ohio River.

The growing number of fires at chemical plants is also alarming. The one that happened two years ago, several miles from where I live, appears to be just the beginning of a rash of such incidents around the world.

There are far too many fires and “accidents” involving hazardous substances for me to accept that they are all coincidences.

The ones crying the loudest to preserve the environment are the ones currently attacking it. (I haven’t yet mentioned the spraying of chemicals into the air to supposedly block the sun.)

After every school shooting, the left would have us believe they really care about the safety of our children and that guns are evil. However, they fiercely support the murder of children in the womb, vote against all measures protecting infants who survive abortions, and surround themselves with people carrying guns for their protection while denying that same protection for our school children.

Furthermore, how can President Biden call for limitations on guns when he left behind billions of dollars’ worth of far more deadly weapons for the murderous terrorists in Afghanistan?

The globalists refer to those who refuse the COVID-19 injections as “murderers” while ignoring the fact these shots have killed and maimed a huge multitude of people. Every day, young adults and teenagers suddenly drop dead as a result of this so-called “vaccine.” Yet the media constantly lies to us by telling us they are safe and effective. They are anything but that.

The globalists in the U.S tell us that our economy is strong while at the same time we see banks failing, rampant inflation, and skyrocketing credit card debt as families fall behind trying to keep food on the table. The U.S. dollar faces a serious crisis as nations move away from it in their purchases of oil.

I could list several more instances regarding the duplicity of those that seek to control our lives. They clearly represent the spirit of the antichrist.

JESUS IS COMING SOON

The deception pandemic is but one of many signs pointing to Jesus’ soon appearing to take His Church up to glory. Is it not remarkable how it’s preparing the world for the arrival of the master of deceit himself, the antichrist?

In 2 Thessalonians 2:6-8, Paul tells us that this man of lawlessness can’t appear on the world stage until the Restrainer is removed. Most prophecy writers and speakers, along with myself, believe that the Restrainer is the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit in New Testament saints. He will not leave the earth when Jesus comes for His Church, but His work at holding back the antichrist, and far worse trickery, will end.

World events seem ready to explode with nuclear wars, pestilences, and hyper-inflation. Warnings abound of future deadly earthquakes, the volcano at Yellowstone Park that could potentially kill tens of millions, and the pole shift that could set off a series of cataclysmic events all around the globe that will shock all those not killed in the aftermath.

When will the world see the full force of such disasters? I believe the Lord is restraining the onset of these things until He removes His church, and the day of His wrath begins.

I’m sure some regard me as the “boy who cried wolf.” However, the Bible says all these catastrophes, and many more, are coming to our world in the future. For now, God is warning those who will listen and providing more time for people to respond to the Gospel and miss the worst time in the history of the world.

I would rather warn people and have there be a delay than remain silent and not repeat what Scripture says about the days in which we live……

Jesus is my risen Savior; He can give you bright hope for tomorrow regardless of the threats that come our way from a fallen world. His Word, the Bible, is our source of truth in a world where deceit reigns.

MORNING MANNA                  4-19-23

LIFE ABUNDANT: GRACE ABOUNDING

“For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace, and of the gift of righteousness, shall reign in life by One, Jesus Christ.”— Rom 5:17.

Notice that word Receive! We first receive forgiveness, or reconciliation, then abundance of grace (Rom 5:11-17). We cannot merit or earn either one or the other; all that we have to do is to take what God offers, by an act of the will which accepts and appropriates. If men are lost, it is because they refuse to receive the grace and love of God, secured to us, in spite of our failure and sin, through the second Adam. We must believe that we have received, even when we are not conscious of any new experience (John 1:12). It is a blessed thing, when our emotional life is at a low ebb, and we feel out of sorts, to receive, to inbreathe, to drink in the “abundance of grace,” and to know that He is working in us in power.

There is no limit to the abundance of God’s supply–it abounds! The Apostle keeps using that word, which really means “running over ” (Rom 5:15, Rom 5:17, Rom 5:20). And the result of receiving more and more out of God’s fullness, is that we reign, not in the future life, but in this. Ours becomes a royal, a regnant, a triumphant life.

This glorious life in which we are daily victorious over sin, daily using and scattering the unsearchable riches of Christ, daily helping others up to the throne-life, is within the reach of every reader of these words. God wants you to enter upon it; He has made every provision for it, and is at this moment urging you to enter upon it. The only thing for you to do is to receive the abundance of His grace and of the gift of righteousness. Open your heart and life and He will fill it; dare to believe that He has filled it, even though you don’t feel it; and go forth to live a royal life, distributing the largess of His royal bounty!

But we must pour out as God pours in! Only so will He be able to trust us with His fullness. Our love to others, our willingness to help them, our forgivingness and patience must go to the point of self-exhaustion, if we would know the abundant life and the grace that flows over.

For souls redeemed, for sins forgiven; For means of grace, and hopes of heaven, Father, what can to Thee be given, Who givest all? AMEN.–F. B. Meyer
