MORNING MANNA             7-8-25

July 8, 2025 By Pastor David Stone

Jesus is the chief among ten thousand, the altogether lovely one.

Christ the Chiefest, or better than the rest.
His love is unknowable. (Eph 3:19).
His riches are unsearchable. (Eph 3:18).
His joy is unspeakable. (1 Pet 1:8).
His ways are untrackable. (Rom 11:33).
His grace is inexhaustible. (2 Cor 9:8).
His peace is unfathomable. (Phil 4:7).
And He Himself is unsurpassable. (Ex. 15:11).

His character was beautiful with holiness in every detail. (Heb 7:26).
His love was pure and faithful in all its affection. (Jn 13:1).
His service was true and beneficent in all its workings. (Acts 10:38).
His words were tender and true in all their utterances. (Jn 7:45).
His life was consistent in every department. (Mt. 27:24; Acts 2:22).
His aim was single and concentrated in glorifying God. (Jn 17:4).
His mission was to benefit all who would have Him in dying a death which they deserved. (2 Cor. 8:9)

Christ is Christianity, and the best evidence of Christianity is Christ.

MORNING MANNA              7-7-25
A Fabulous Future

We live in a day when we are constantly bombarded with bad news and negative issues. It wears on you! Many are so fearful and discouraged that although they live in the lap of luxury they don’t enjoy it. If that describes your disposition you need to do as Paul commands in 1 Thessalonians 4:18,”Wherefore comfort one another with these words.” To do that you must consider what he said in the previous verses regarding the return of the Lord, the resurrection of the dead in Christ, and the rapture of the saints. That describes the belivers “blessed hope”(Titus 2:13) and it gives us reason to rejoice! But, notice that we are not to just seek comfort for ourselves, we are to “comfort one another”. It is through comforting others with these glorious truths that we find the most comfort for ourselves. The person who seeks to be a blessing is always blessed himself.

We need the attitude of D.L. Moody. A little girl had heard someone talking about the end of the world and she was greatly troubled. Seeing tears in her eyes, Mr. Moody asked what was wrong. When the little girl said, “The world is coming to an end”. The wise old preacher said,”Don’t worry honey, we can get along just fine without it”. Indeed we can – if we know Christ as our Savior.

Regardless of the wretched conditions on earth we have a fabulous future. One glorious day Christ will return and we shall be “caught up” to meet the Lord in the air! We will be reunited with the saints that have gone before, relieved of our heavey burdens, and rewarded for the deeds we’ve done. It doesn’t get any better than that! As the old song says,”What a day that will be”. Cheer up weary pilgrim you’re not home yet. And, until we finally reach our homeland, we have the aid of the Holy Spirit to sustain us.

Remember, “–weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.”(Psalms 30:5).–HDS 2/12/11

MORNING MANNA             7-5-25

July 5, 2025 By Pastor David Stone

Many years ago I met the late Henry M. Morris, shortly after he started he started his ministry about 1970. Although he never received all the publicity of the so-called famous preachers of his generation, his ministry (Institute for Creation Research) accomplished much more than a lot of the “hotshot” preachers put together. I thank God for the privilege of having known him. I am so thankful that, although Bro. Morris is in heaven, his work continues on through the efforts of his sons and others that he trained. He was a brilliant man, but his success came as a result of living under the Lordship of Christ. That’s the subject of this article:

“Which in his times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords.” (1 Timothy 6:15). Of the many descriptive titles of the Lord Jesus Christ, perhaps the most significant is that of King, because this speaks of His universal dominion. The day is coming when “every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth” (Philippians 2:10).

First of all, since He created all things, He is the King of creation. “For the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods. In his hand are the deep places of the earth: the strength of the hills is his also. The sea is his, and he made it: and his hands formed the dry land” (Psalm 95:3-5).

In a special sense, of course, He is the King of the Jews. “He shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end” (Luke 1:33).

He is also our King of redemption, having set us free from the kingdom of the wicked one. He “hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins” (Colossians 1:13-14).

There is a day coming in which all the kings of the earth shall unite against Him. “These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful” (Revelation 17:14). “And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron. . . . And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS” (Revelation 19:15-16). Until then, let us serve Him as King, and submit to Him as Lord. -HDS

THE HOPE FOR HAPPINESS

“….Yea, happy is that people, whose God is the LORD.” ‭‭Psalm‬ ‭144‬:‭15‬ ‭

In June of 1783, just months before the signing of the Treaty of Paris that formally concluded the War for Independence, George Washington wrote a letter to the governors of the thirteen states announcing his intention to resign his position as commander in chief of the American army and laying out a vision for the future nation. He concluded with these words:

“I now make it my earnest prayer, that God would have you and the State over which you preside, in His holy protection; that He would incline the hearts of the citizens to cultivate a spirit of subordination and obedience to government, to entertain a brotherly affection and love for one another, for their fellow citizens of the United States at large, and particularly for their brethren who have served in the field—and finally, that He would most graciously be pleased to dispose us all to do justice, to love mercy, and to demean ourselves with that charity, humility, and pacific temper of mind, which were the characteristics of the Divine Author of our blessed religion, and without a humble imitation of whose example in these things, we can never hope to be a happy nation.”

O how we need such wise leaders today! Whether you consult the Bible or consider history, it is clear that there is no hope for happiness unless we yield to God as Lord over all. The greatest contribution we can make for our country is to live for Christ. And there is no hope for happiness nor heaven without a personal relationship with Christ the Redeemer. Then with faith in God’s Word, and following God’s ways, we can fulfill God’s will and find blessings that nothing else can bring. HDS

BOUND & BLESSED
“—-my bonds in Christ–“ Philippians 1:13

It seems strange that some of the best people have the worst problems and some of the sweetest songs come from prisons, rather than a palace. As Paul wrote this marvellous letter he was wearing chains for Christ, yet he did so with great rejoicing.

It’s unlikely that you and I will ever be forced to wear chains for Christ’s sake, but if we do our duty we will, without a doubt, experience suffering of some sort. Whether we speak of it as chains we wear or a cross we bear, the point is the same. Both represent the suffering we experience as a result of doing God’s will. Jesus, remember, spoke about the difficulties of discipleship. He didn’t lie!

For some it is household cares that make up the links of the chain that binds them. Don’t kid yourself–being a faithful housewife isn’t a walk in the park. For others the chain that holds them is a low-paying, dead-end job that they must work to support their family. Could you rejoice in a situation like that? The list could go on, but you get the point. Doing what God expects can be very uncomfortable–down right painful. How do you handle it? Or, does it handle you?

Let me make a suggestion–let Paul serve as an example (Phil.3:15-17). Instead of thinking of yourself as being deprived in bondage and complaining because you can’t escape, think of situation as an opportunity to do what you otherwise wouldn’t do–given a choice. Consider your circumstances as a chance to serve Christ. That’s exactly what Paul did. He didn’t sit idly by. He attributed his presence in prison to an act of God, although wicked men put him there, and he used the occasion to preach the gospel (Phil. 1:12-13). Make a ministry of your misery. As Paul said of the God of all comfort “who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.” ‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭1‬:‭4‬.

Your circumstances and your mission, to an extent, are different, but your attitude should be the same. Do all things without murmurings and disputings—joy, and rejoice with me.”(Phil. 2:14,18). Do that and you will be blessed by whatever binds you! –HDS
