MORNING MANNA

October 23, 2017 By Pastor David Stone

ENOUGH

“And when it was evening, his disciples came to him, saying, This is a desert place, and the time is now past; send the multitude away, that they may go into the villages, and buy themselves victuals. But Jesus said unto them, They need not depart; give ye them to eat. And they say unto him, We have here but five loaves, and two fishes. He said, Bring them hither to me.”–Matthew 14:15–18

So often our focus is on what we do not have rather than what we do have. We make excuses, saying we would serve God if we had more talents or we would give if we had more money. No one God has ever used had the resources needed for the work to which He called them. Instead, those who have been used gave what they had to God and trusted Him to make it enough. Very small things—a shepherd’s staff, a young boy’s sling, a widow’s mite, a handful of meal, and a little boy’s lunch made a huge difference when they were given to God.

We should not expect God to do more for us and increase our resources if we are not using what we already have for His work. Jesus said, “He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much. If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches?” (Luke 16:10–11).

We do not need great resources when we have a great God. We simply need to trust Him with what He has given to us, and believe that He will work to supply all of our needs. There are no limits to what God can do when we act in faith. If we keep our eyes on Him, we will find the courage to go forward and He will be faithful.-( Daily in the Word)

MORNING MANNA

October 22, 2017 By Pastor David Stone

THE JUDGMENT

“And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:  So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that  look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.”–Heb. 9:27-28

Huey Long, the notorious politician who was governor of Louisiana  before he went on to serve in the U.S. Senate, was well known for being  rather harsh with people. One day, a fellow walked up to Long and said,  “Sir, could I have a few minutes of your time?”

Long took a look at the man and said, “I don’t have thirty minutes for  Jesus Christ, much less ten minutes for you.” The next day, Huey Long  was shot by an assassin’s bullet and died two days later.

Some might think affronting God is a good idea. But there will come a  time when each and every one of us will have to face our Maker. It may  be sooner or it may be later, but it is definitely going to happen. And  on that day, all that will matter is whether God declares us innocent or guilty.

Those who’ve humbly submitted to Christ will receive His forgiveness.  But for those who in their haughtiness have denied Christ, they will  undergo judgment… a judgment that is permanent.

How you deal with Christ today will determine your eternal destiny.  Don’t have a puffed-up spirit. Submit humbly to Christ every day and  trust Him to take away your sins!–Jack Graham

MORNING MANNA

October 21, 2017 By Pastor David Stone

KNOWLEDGE OF THE TRUTH
“Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.”–1Tim. 2:4
The more you read, listen, and watch all the reports and theories the more you wonder if anything is as it seems. Who really shot Kennedy? Are the Clintons really involved in the many deaths of their associates? Did Hitler die or escape? Did Amelia Earhart survive? The list of questions go on and on. Some people believe in “Bigfoot”, “ghost”, “life on another planet”, and that the earth if flat. Even when you read history books you’re often left to wonder if you’re getting the facts. We would be shocked if we knew the truth about many things, some of which have never been questioned.
While those things don’t really concern me there are issues that do. We live in a world that is both corrupt and confused, and the average person has no idea where to turn for answers. While some don’t seem to care, others are searching for answers. They read all kinds of literature, dabble in different religions, explore theories, read science fiction, etc. They have enquiring minds and are looking for something they never find.
For those folks I’ve got good news and bad news. The bad news is you have wasted so much of your life. The good news is that I can tell you where to find what you’re looking for. Man’s only hope is a knowledge of the truth and the only place to find it is in the Word of God. Until we get it settled in our mind that the Bible is the infallible Word of God we will always be unsure, and peace is impossible. What you and every other person needs can only be found in Christ, who said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” (John 14:6) –HDS

THE BIBLE

October 20, 2017 By Pastor David Stone

THE BIBLE
“But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God“– Matt. 4:4
Many years ago, a man named Robert Chapman gave Christians a powerful reminder of our privilege and responsibility as stewards of God’s Word. He wrote:

This book contains the mind of God, the state of man, the way of salvation, the doom of sinners, and the happiness of believers. Its doctrines are holy, its precepts binding, its histories are true, and its decisions are immutable. Read it to be wise, believe it to be safe, and practice it to be holy. It contains light to direct you, food to support you, and comfort to cheer you. It is the traveler’s map, the pilgrim’s staff, the pilot’s compass, and the soldier’s sword. It should fill the memory, test the heart, and guide the feet. Read it slowly, frequently, prayerfully. It is a mine of wealth, a paradise of glory, and a river of pleasure. It involves the highest responsibility, rewards the greatest labor, and condemns all who will trifle with its sacred contents. Christ is its grand subject, our good is its design, and the glory of God is its end.

The question then is not “Why study the Bible,” but “How can we afford not to?”  What will you do with God’s Word today?  It’s not meant to simply adorn the table in your living room or lay on your bedside table, unread.

Pick it up—use it.  It’s the perfect blueprint . . . for building your life! (Copied)

GOD’S MIRACLE BOOK

October 19, 2017 By Pastor David Stone

GOD’S MIRACLE BOOK
“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:”– 2 Tim. 3:16
The Bible is referred to in many different ways. We speak of it as God’s Word, the Good Book, the Holy Scriptures, and the Sword of the Spirit. It is also known as the Book of books and the Living Word. Some call it simply THE Book, for nothing else seems necessary. It stands alone, towering above all other writings.
Of the many titles given to the Bible, however, the one that is the most appropriate is God’s Miracle Book.
This is true for a number of reasons:
     1. It is miraculous in its origin—coming to us by divine inspiration.
     2. It is miraculous in its durability—outlasting the opposition of its critics and surviving the attempts of its enemies to exterminate it.
     3. It is miraculous in its results—transforming the lives of those who read and believe it.
     4. It is miraculous in its harmony—agreeing in all its parts, even though written over a period of 1600 years by about 40 different authors.
     5. It is miraculous in its message—telling of many occasions when God supernaturally intervened in the affairs of men to accomplish his redemptive purposes.
     6. It is miraculous in its preservation—maintaining its accuracy and reliability down through the centuries.
Yes, the Bible is God’s Miracle Book!– Author unknown
