MORNING MANNA             4-20-25

MORNING MANNA                4-20-25

RESULTS OF THE REDEEMER’S RESURRECTION

While the reality of the Redeemer’s resurrection is certain, not everyone is aware of its results. So, here is some food for thought. The resurrection of Christ was the—
~ Consummation of His glorious victory.
Until then it appeared that He had gone down in defeat, conquered by a greater power, but obviously that wasn’t the case!
~ Conquest over His enemies– death, hell, and the grave.
~ Confirmation of His claims.
He did what He promised and proved He was who He claimed to be.
~ Certification of the Father’s approval.
This was God’s stamp of approval, showing the world He was satisfied with His sacrifice.
~ Coronation of His authority.
~ Convincing argument against critics.
~ Conclusion of His earthly ministry.
~ Commencement of a new plan for worship.
~ Consolation of believers.
~ Cause for our hope.
~ Cornerstone of our faith.
~ Charter for Christians.
~ Crowning achievement.

What more could you want Him to do? The Bible describes His virgin birth, virtuous life, various miracles, vicarious death, victorious resurrection, and visible ascension into heaven. He has given us every reason to believe and no reason to doubt. He proved who He was, provided the means to redeem fallen man, and promised to save whosoever that comes to Him! – HDS

MORNING MANNA             4-19-25

UP FROM THE GRAVE!

It all started so good—“very good” (Gen. 1:31). But Satan was determined to turn the garden into a graveyard. Man was created to live in fellowship with his Creator. God desired that man live in constant communion with Him. Doing so would bring perfect peace and abundant joy, such as could not be found in any other source. But sin changed all that, depriving man of what God desired.

Since sin entered the world life is a constant struggle—everything is now difficult. Nothing comes easy anymore.  Even the food we eat must be earned by the sweat of our brow. We live in a wicked world and we are weak. Instead of subduing the earth we find ourselves being brought into submission to it. That is not what God intended. So now, in our natural state, we are forced to live a life that is “of few days and full of trouble”(Job 14:1). And our prospect for the future is even worse. As sinners we face an eternity of separation from God. That’s the bad news!

The good news is that Jesus came to change all that. He came to redeem man and restore him to fellowship with God. To do this He had to suffer and die in our place. O, how amazing it is that He, who is without sin, would be made sin for us, “that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.” (2 Cor. 5:21). That sounds too good to be true—but it is true! The proof that God is able and willing to do this is found in the resurrection of Christ. The fact that He lives sweeps away all doubt for those who trust him. They have a hope that goes beyond the grave!

The world, however, is always trying to pull us down and bury our hopes and dreams and joy beneath a deluge of difficulties. That’s exactly where some of you are at this very moment. Your joy is buried under an avalanche of adversities, and you feel you will never laugh again. But, it doesn’t have to be that way. Jesus came to raise our hopes and His resurrection proves He can. Because He was raised from the dead, He can raise you up out of the ash-heap of sin and restore you to fellowship with God. Why would anyone not trust a God like that? – HDS  4/12/09

THREE DAYS LATER
Did you ever feel that everything was working against you? Who hasn’t? But, regardless of how bad it was or is–Jesus had it worse! Much worse! He was rejected by his own, nailed to the cross, forsaken by the Father, murdered by His people, and buried in a borrowed tomb. Could you have stood outside that tomb it would have seemed the the devil had defeated the Son of God and destroyed all hope forever.

However, three days later it was a much different picture! Imagine walking up to that tomb and finding it empty. Picture yourself standing there in awe when suddenly two angels appear and announce,”He is not here, but risen”( Luke 24:6). Imagine running to tell others when suddenly you are met by Jesus Himself, and hearing Him say,”Be not afraid”(Matthew 28:8-10).

Now, after all these years those words still ring in our ears–“Be not afraid”. Whether you are facing darkness, demons, or death, you need not fear. These are enemies that Jesus has already faced and conquered. He can turn your tragedy into triumph. He did so personally and He will do so for His people. Although everything seems to be working against you, He is working for you. He does not promise to remove your problems and pain, but He does promise to use it for profit. Amazingly He produces good from bad. He did not fail when everything was working against Him and He won’t fail you.

He is the great Conqueror who has never lost a battle. He is the Mighty King who has no equal. His name is Wonderful. His ways are perfect. His power is unlimited. His wisdom is unequaled. His love is unconditional and unending. His promises are sure, and his words,”because I live, ye shall live also”(John 14:19) give us great comfort. He cannot lie! He has taken an oath upon His own name (Hebrews 6:13-19) and has proven Himself Faithful and True. We would be fools to not trust Him!- HDS

THREE TREMENDOUS TRUTHS

“Thy word have I hid in mine heart, That I might not sin against thee.” ‭‭Psalm‬ ‭119‬:‭11‬ ‭

Much is said about the need to read the Bible, but much more needs to be said about it. We can never say too much about the need to read, study, and obey God’s Word. Most people aren’t getting the message. Probably no other Christian duty is so greatly neglected. Why? It happens because people don’t see the importance. And, that problem isn’t solved until a person is convinced of these three tremendous truths:

1. God’s Word is Always True. It is perfect in every way—the only sure standard by which to live. It is the only reliable guide upon which we can depend.

2. God’s Will is Always Best. Some who admit that the Bible is God’s word are not fully persuaded that it is always best. They think of it as a medicine that helps, but leaves an unpleasant taste in your mouth. However, once a person is convinced that it best they are willing to accept it and pursue it.

3. God’s Way is Always Safest. Make no mistake about it, doing God’s will can be difficult and dangerous. But the truth is that we are never safer than when we are in God’s will. The most dangerous place on earth is outside the will of God. The safest place is in His will. If you are concerned about your welfare you better believe the Word of God, do the will of God, and follow the ways of God.

The realization of these three things will cause you to acquaint yourself with God’s ways, believe God’s Word, and commit yourself to God’s will. That is the right, best, and safest way to live. What could be better? Why would you do anything else?  HDS, 4-10-14

MORNING MANNA              4-16-25

April 16, 2025 By Pastor David Stone

Verse 1
I was weak and weary, I had gone astray,
walking in the darkness, I couldn’t find my way.
Then a light came shining to lead me from despair,
all my sins forgiven, and I was free from care.

Chorus
I found the answer, I learned to pray,
*with faith to guide me, I found the way.
The sun is shining for me each day,
I found the answer, I learned to pray.

Verse 2
I was sad and lonely, all my hopes were gone,
days were long and dreary, I couldn’t carry on.
Then I found the courage to keep my head up high,
once again I’m happy, and here’s the reason why.

Chorus

Verse 3
Keep your Bible with you, read it every day,
always count your blessings and always stop to pray.
Learn to keep believing and faith will see you thro’,
seek to know contentment, and it will come to you.
